LIFE RAFT
We're not savages. We won't let the strong take from the weak.
Tomorrow morning, we will meet again, and we will all make our case.
In a mysterious dystopia, against a backdrop of war, a lifeboat filled with children is adrift at sea - their passenger liner sunk by an unknown enemy. As darkness falls and their rations dwindle; fear, superstition and madness start to take hold.
Fin Kennedy's contemporary adaptation of Georg Kaiser's The Raft of the Medusa, inspired by a true story from the Second World War, unearths a new perspective for our troubled times. Supported by Bristol 2015 European Green Capital, Life Raft examines the psychology of hysteria and the struggle for power as resources run short.
Acclaimed director and Bristol Old Vic Associate Artist Melly Still (Coram Boy) directs this extraordinary world premiere, performed by young actors of the Bristol Old Vic Young Company and from across the South West.
